June 29, 1961 – The final episode of You Bet Your Life is broadcast after 14 years on radio and television.

October 11, 1961 – Chico Marx dies at 74 in Beverly Hills, California.

January 14, 1962 – Groucho appears in a dramatic role in The Holdout on the General Electric Theatre on the CBS Television Network.

January 18, 1962 – Groucho debuts in a new game show, Tell It to Groucho, on the CBS Television Network.

August 20, 1962 – Groucho begins a week as the guest host of The Tonight Show on the NBC Television Network. His guests include Harry Ruby, Barbra Streisand and Lillian Roth.

October 1, 1962 - Groucho Marx introduces Johnny Carson as the new host of The Tonight Show.

March 26, 1963 – Groucho begins his final tour in Time for Elizabeth at the Sombrero Playhouse in Phoenix, Arizona.

October 1963 – Groucho’s collection of essays on romance, Memoirs of a Mangy Lover, is published by Bernard Geis Associates.

April 24, 1964 – Groucho stars in a television adaptation of Time for Elizabeth, the Broadway show he wrote with Norman Krasna. The show is broadcast as an episode of The Bob Hope Chrysler Theatre on NBC.

July 27, 1964 – Groucho returns as a guest host on The Tonight Show for a week. His guests include his daughter Melinda.

September 28, 1964 – Harpo Marx dies at 75 in Los Angeles, California.

June 15, 1965 – Groucho appears at a memorial for T.S. Eliot at the Globe Theatre in London. The event is recorded and later issued as a record album.

June 17, 1965 – Groucho debuts a British version of You Bet Your Life simply called Groucho on the ITV Network.

October 1965 – The Library of Congress requests the donation of Groucho’s letters and personal papers.

February 1967 – The Groucho Letters is published by Simon & Schuster.

April 18, 1967 – Groucho attends A Salute to the Marx Brothers at the Gallery of Modern Art in New York City.

April 23, 1968 – Groucho makes the first of his seven appearances on The Dick Cavett Show on the ABC Television Network.

December 19, 1968 – Skidoo, Groucho’s final film, is released.

December 4, 1969 – Groucho and Eden divorce.
