May 12, 1950 – Groucho and Kay are divorced.

July 15, 1950 – Groucho makes his television debut on the Popsicle Parade of Stars on the CBS Television Network.

October 5, 1950 – You Bet Your Life makes its television debut on the NBC Television Network. A radio version of the show continues on NBC as well.

November 12, 1950 – Groucho makes the first of his seven appearances on The Big Show, the NBC Radio Network’s weekly 90-minute variety show starring Tallulah Bankhead.

December 20, 1950 – Mr. Music, a Bing Crosby film with a cameo appearance by Groucho, is released.

January 23, 1951 – Groucho wins an Emmy Award as the Most Outstanding Television Personality of 1950.

December 24, 1951 – the film Double Dynamite starring Groucho Marx, Jane Russell and Frank Sinatra is released.

December 31, 1951 – Groucho Marx appears on the cover of TIME Magazine.

January 23, 1952 – the film A Girl in Every Port starring Groucho Marx and William Bendix is released.

July 15, 1952 – Groucho opens at the La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, California in a production of Time for Elizabeth, the play he co-wrote with Norman Krasna. It is the first of several productions of the play that will feature Groucho.

October 1952 – Groucho’s first record album, Hooray for Captain Spaulding and Other Songs by Harry Ruby and Bert Kalmar Sung by Groucho Marx, is released by Decca Records.

December 2, 1952 – Groucho delivers a lecture, “Humor: From Silent Screen to TV”, at the University of Oregon in Eugene.

July 17, 1954 – Groucho marries his third wife, Eden Hartford.

July 26, 1957 – Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? - a Jayne Mansfield film with a cameo appearance by Groucho Marx - is released.

August 4, 1957 – Groucho begins a short summer stock tour starring in Time for Elizabeth at the Theatre-by-the-Sea in Manatuck, Rhode Island, the first of several summer stock touring seasons.

October 8, 1957 – The Story of Mankind – with separate scenes featuring Groucho, Harpo and Chico Marx – is released.

September 1959 – Groucho’s autobiography, Groucho and Me, is published by Bernard Geis Associates.
